HONORS
Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP)
To qualify for this honor, a student's sixth grade ITBS scores must have an English or Math grade that are in the 95th percentile. Students qualifying for the TIP program take the college ACT or the SAT tests as 7th Graders. These students can qualify for college scholarships! This is truly an honor!
National Junior Honor Society
7th and 8th Grade students with an overall "A" average in all classes and with outstanding conduct are chosen to be members of the National Junior Honor Society. This is truly an excellent honor to achieve!
Peer Helpers
In the Spring, 7th grade students may apply to be a Peer Helper for the next school year. These students must obtain teacher recommendations and must take part in an interview. Being a peer helper allows students the opportunity to work with other students in a tutoring capacity and/or assisting faculty members with clerical duties. Qualifications include maintaining an overall "B" average, being responsible and dependable, being comfortable working with teachers and working with other people in academic work.
Yearbook Staff
Students in grades 7 and 8 are eligible to work on the school yearbook. Students must complete the application process in the Spring of his/her 6th or 7th grade year and are selected by the Yearbook Advisor.
Altar Servers
This opportunity is open to any Catholic student who would like to serve our school community at our weekly school liturgy. Students interested in being a server must contact the school Director of Religious Education to receive training.
ORGANIZATIONS
Boy Scout Troop 237
Boy Scout Troop 237 is where you begin your trail to Eagle scout! They go on campouts, earn merit badges, sell popcorn, go rappelling, whitewater rafting, hiking, and swimming! It is a lot of fun!
Cub Scout Pack 237
Cub Scouts begin as early as 1st grade with our Tiger cubs. In 2nd grade you can become a Cub Scout! Every year they have the Pinewood Derby where every scout builds a model car and they race them. You can go on campouts with your parents and participate in many fun activities!
Junior Girl Scout Troop 87
Girl Scouts go camping, swimming, and hiking. Besides doing fun activities they help the community doing many service projects. They also sell those excellent Girl Scout cookies. Try the thin mints, they're the best!
Daisy Troop 459
The Daisies Scouts are 1st graders interested in becoming Girl Scouts.
